Doubles Privacy Policy
Effective October 20, 2026
Doubles: Your Get Lean Partner (formerly Get Lean Coach; "the app", "we", "us") is a food and fitness journal with an AI partner that you name and give a style (the default name is Otto). It is made by Supercharge LLC. This policy explains what the app collects, where it goes and the choices you have.
The short version
- Your journal lives on your phone first. If you turn on sync, it is also stored privately on our servers so it survives a lost or replaced phone.
- When you use AI features, the note, photo or voice recording you send, plus some recent journal context and Apple Health readings, goes to our AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic and Groq) to produce your entry or reply. AI is off until you turn it on.
- We read Apple Health only with your permission and only the categories you choose. We never sell your data, never use it for advertising and never share Health data for marketing.
- Subscriptions are bought through Apple. We never see your payment card.
- You can export your records, or delete your account and all of its data, from inside the app.
What we collect
Account details. When you sign in with Apple we receive a private account identifier from Apple and, if you choose to share them, your name and email address. Apple lets you hide your real email, in which case we receive a relay address. When you sign in with Google we receive your Google account identifier, name, email address and a link to your Google profile picture.
Your journal. Meals, drinks and supplements, the daily list you keep (such as creatine, water or a medicine), nutrition estimates, workouts, notes, targets, and the answers you give when setting up your plan, such as age, height, weight, goal and activity level.
Photos. Food, nutrition-label and progress photos you choose to attach.
Voice recordings. When you record a voice note and choose Send or Review, the recording is sent to Groq to be turned into text (or to OpenAI if Groq is unavailable). Recordings pass through our server in memory and are not stored on our servers. A recording that fails to send stays on your phone so you can try again.
Apple Health data. With your permission, the app reads the Health categories you select, such as workouts, steps, active calories, sleep, weight, body fat, lean mass, resting heart rate and heart rate variability. Health data is not synced to or stored on our servers. Active calories stay on your phone and are not sent to our AI providers. When AI is on, the day's Health readings and a short weekly summary (such as steps, sleep, weight and average resting heart rate and heart rate variability) are sent with your notes so your partner can take them into account. To stop this, turn AI off or remove the app's Health access.
Subscription status. When you start a trial, subscribe or tap Restore, the app sends the App Store transaction number to our server, which checks it with RevenueCat and Apple. We keep whether you have access, which plan you are on and when it renews or ends. Apple handles payment; we never receive your card details.
Usage data. We record how the app is used, linked to your account: for example which setup screens you reached, which features you opened, how you logged (voice, photo, typed or a usual), trial and subscription steps, AI replies that failed or were slow, error codes (such as a failed AI reply or a sync conflict), your app version, phone model and iOS version, and how many AI requests you make each day (to enforce fair-use limits). Usage data never includes what you ate, your photos, your messages or your body numbers. We use it to make the app work, fix problems and learn which features help. It stays on our own servers: we do not use third-party analytics or advertising tools, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Support messages. When you contact us, in the app with Get help or by email, we keep your message, any screenshot you attach and, if you leave "Include app details" on, your app version, phone model, sync status and recent error codes, so we can answer you. We may use your account email to reply. Letting support see your journal is a separate switch, off by default: if you turn it on, access ends on its own after 7 days, you can stop it sooner at any time, and each time support looks it is logged.
How we use it
- To run the journal: save your entries, sync them between your phone and our servers, and estimate nutrition.
- To provide your partner: turn notes, photos and voice into journal entries, answer your questions, and write daily and weekly summaries.
- To manage your subscription: confirm purchases, trials and renewals, and give free access where we have offered it.
- To keep the service safe and working: prevent abuse, enforce limits and fix problems.
- To improve the app: understand which features help and where people get stuck, using usage data.
- To answer you when you contact support.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it to build profiles for anyone else.
Who we share it with
We share data only with service providers that run parts of the app for us, and only for that purpose:
| Provider | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Your synced journal, photos and account details | Hosts our servers, database and private photo storage |
| OpenAI | The text or photos you submit, with related journal context (recent totals, targets, open questions, the day's Apple Health readings and a weekly Health summary); voice recordings only if Groq is unavailable | Creates journal entries, nutrition estimates and partner replies, reads each typed message to decide which AI model answers it, may look up nutrition facts on the web, and is the backup for transcription |
| Anthropic | For some accounts, the text you submit (including the words of a voice note, but not photos or the recording itself), with the same journal context and Health readings | Writes some of your partner's replies, such as answers to questions, morning check-ins, closing the day and the weekly review, and may look up nutrition facts on the web |
| Groq | Voice recordings you choose to send | Turns speech into text |
| Apple | Sign-in requests; subscription purchases | Sign in with Apple; takes payment and confirms subscriptions |
| Sign-in requests | Sign in with Google | |
| RevenueCat | Your account identifier and App Store transaction numbers (no journal, Health or payment card data) | Confirms subscriptions with Apple and tells us whether you have access |
| Resend (our email provider) | Your email address, and the content of emails we send you: sign-in codes, the weekly recap if you get it, and support replies; support emails you send, including any screenshot and app details | Sends sign-in codes and recaps, and delivers support messages |
| LoopMessage | Only for invited testers who turn on texting: your phone number and the messages and photos you text your partner | Delivers texts between you and your partner in Messages |
| Open Food Facts | A product barcode number only, with nothing that identifies you | Looks up nutrition for packaged foods |
We send AI requests with OpenAI's setting not to store them for later retrieval, and we have not opted in to any program that lets OpenAI, Anthropic or Groq train on our data. These providers may still keep request data for a limited time under their own published policies, for example to monitor for abuse, and then delete it.
ChatGPT connection (optional). If you choose to connect Doubles to your own ChatGPT account, ChatGPT can read your synced journal (days, targets and usual foods) when you ask it to. If you also allow editing, ChatGPT can prepare new entries, corrections or removals, but nothing changes in your journal until you tap Save on the Doubles card in ChatGPT. Your use of ChatGPT is covered by OpenAI's own privacy policy. You can disconnect at any time in the app.
We may disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
Your choices
- AI and transcription can be turned off in You. The journal still works with manual logging.
- Sync can be turned off in You. This stops future syncing; records already on our servers stay there until you delete your account. AI sharing is controlled separately.
- Subscriptions are managed and cancelled in iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions.
- Support access to your journal is off unless you allow it in a help request. It ends on its own after 7 days, and you can stop it sooner.
- Apple Health access is managed in the Health app or in iPhone Settings, one category at a time.
- Export your records from You › Privacy & your data.
- Delete your account in You › Privacy & your data › Delete account & all data. This removes your journal, photos, usage data, error codes, support messages and account from our servers and revokes the app's Sign in with Apple link. It does not cancel an Apple subscription; cancel that in your Apple ID settings first.
How long we keep data
We keep your synced journal, photos and subscription status while your account exists. Usage data is kept for about a year and error codes for 90 days. Support messages and screenshots are kept while your account exists so we have a record of the conversation; copies that reached our support email are deleted within 2 years. Unfinished photo uploads are removed after a day. Voice recordings are not kept on our servers. When you delete your account, its data is removed from our live systems right away; if a step is interrupted, it is retried automatically. Our hosting provider's automatic backups expire on their own within 30 days. Data our AI providers hold follows their retention policies described above.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections. Photos are stored privately and are available only to your signed-in account. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit who and what can reach your data.
Health and safety
Doubles gives general nutrition and fitness information. It is not medical advice and does not diagnose or treat any condition. Nutrition numbers are estimates. Talk to a doctor before making big changes to your diet or training, especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, under 18, or have a history of disordered eating.
Children
The app is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Where data is processed
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
